Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you determine what themes to use?
A: It’s a mixture of what the venues want and what trivia patrons have told us they want to play. We usually try one or two new themes a month, and if they are successful, we put them into a more regular rotation.

Q: How many players are allowed on a team?
A: Typically we allow for teams as small as two individuals, and as large as six to eight, depending on the venue capacity. For bingo, there is no minimum. 

Q: Does trivia or bingo cost anything to play?
A: Bingo is always free to play. Some of the larger trivia events are pay to play, and always feature cash prizes. You can visit the “Events” section to see which events may cost to play.

Q: Are the questions the same every night?
A: We rarely reuse questions. If we do, it’s usually no more than a few per month. We take the time to make each event unique, and that includes the time it takes to research thoughtful questions for all of you.

Q: Do we register in advance for trivia events or just show up?
A: At Stumptown Trivia & Bingo, we do not take pre-registration for events at this time. We have learned that some people will use this as an opportunity to sell pre-registrations to others at a higher cost, sometimes with fake information. For this reason, our events are always on a first-come basis. 

Q: How long do the events usually last?
A: A typical event with Stumptown Trivia will last roughly an hour and a half to two hours.
